What does your Workplace say about your Business?

What does your Workplace say about your Business?

Bringing several Businesses into one Office raises a question that a floor plan alone cannot answer: how do you make people feel part of the same Organisation?

A recent Mix Interiors feature explores Basha-Franklin’s design for Super Group’s London Headquarters, bringing 15 Sports, Technology and iGaming Brands together. The introduction highlights early collaboration with the Client and an approach that expresses the Business’s identity through the space itself.

For us at TSI Workspace, it raises a useful question for any Office Project: what should the Workplace help your Business become?

Start with the Conversations You Want to Happen

Before choosing Furniture, consider who needs to spend time together and what they need from that interaction.

A Project Team reviewing drawings has different requirements from Colleagues catching up over coffee. A Visitor Meeting needs a different setting from a confidential conversation.

The Furniture Brief should reflect those differences. Table dimensions, seating posture, access to power and the position of each setting all deserve attention. An attractive arrangement has to earn its place through everyday use.

Give Shared Spaces a Clear Purpose

A Sofa and Coffee Table can look inviting in a presentation, but their value depends on where they sit and how people use them.

We would ask whether the setting supports a quick conversation, a longer discussion or a break away from the Desk. That answer should guide seat height, comfort, table selection and the relationship with surrounding Work Areas.

The same applies to Meeting Rooms. The right number of seats is only the starting point. Sightlines, screen positions, circulation and accessibility need to work together.

Build Identity Through Considered Choices

Furniture offers an opportunity to create continuity across an Office without repeating the same setting everywhere.

A consistent palette can connect different areas, while changes in materials, scale and upholstery give each space its own character. Samples are essential here. Colours and textures should be reviewed together, in the context of the wider Interior.

Involve the Furniture Team Early

Early specification gives more time to test layouts, compare Products, review Samples and understand costs. It also helps identify where existing Furniture can remain useful and where a new piece will make a meaningful difference.

At TSI Workspace, we help Clients and Designers turn those decisions into a coordinated Furniture Specification, balancing appearance, comfort, practical requirements and budget.
